Great job Danielle, keep it up
On a side note, as someone who does a lot of hiring for student jobs on campus, I cannot stress the importance of spelling and grammar in emails and resumes/cover letters.
Also... if you send a cover letter, tailor it to the position and make sure if you do choose to send a generic one to change the name of the person you address it to in order to meet the needs of the current situation. The small things sometimes demonstrate the most genuine interest in a job

You wouldn't believe how often I've received cover letters addressed to the wrong person or to organizations that weren't the MSU, it's especially troubling because I hire for management positions mostly so one would normally expect a little more attention paid to applications.

Great article! I've listened to friends talk about the e-mails they send to professors, and sometimes I look at them with a face like this: O_O, accompanied by a "Hmm, try not to do that next time."

You'd be surprised how many terrible emails students send. I got plenty last year at my summer job, and I had several people asking if Compass was hiring last year who sent some pretty bad ones too.
You'd actually be surprised how many adults send bad ones too. I had an administrative assistant send an email to their boss that I was cc'd in and they addressed me by the wrong name and gender!

Congrats Danielle! Great great stuff.
As a person who is a stickler for spelling, I appreciate when a person takes the time to write an e-mail or write posts on forums like MacInsiders.
