is a macpass needed for this?
i just saw the off campus events that are going on during the welcome week on the below website:

do i need to purchase a macpass to be allowed in those events?

Not all of them require a MacPass but some of them do, so it's probably better to purchase one so you'll have access to more than just those, but all student-wide events.

i live off-campus though...is buying a macpass useful to me as it is to those who are in rez?
i know it gets me to some places...but does those who live off-campus really recommend it?
i need to decide soon since the selling ends tomorrow..

SOCS has their own events. I wasn't part of SOCS in my first year though, so I can't tell you if it's worth it. But looking at the events planned it looks worth it...

It's just for welcome week but you also get a SOCS membership.

Yes, the MacPass is just for some welcome week events.

If you're in SOCS, it's pretty worth it to get a MacPass. It's a lot cheaper for you, and you might not want to miss out on events.
