Making a time table
When this is listed in the notes : Upon enrolling in this course, students will be assigned (Core) (Lab) component(s).
Does that mean that i don't need to select these components and that when i enroll in the class, they will just give me whatever fits into my time table?
Thanks

They will give you what fits, but sometimes SOLAR is stupid and you might run into conflicts. It's a good idea to make a mock timetable now, know what fits to your liking, and then change the times around if you can when SOLAR opens again (in August, I believe.)

Mock timetable is always a good idea, unless all your courses are 1 core and all classes are mandatory.

Chances of all classes being mandatory aren't high though. Even if the course is in your program list, it's not "mandatory". I've asked for placement in a course last year and they rejected me because they said I could take another one.
Just because your courses are listed on your program page in the undergraduate calendar doesn't mean they don't conflict.

Well, for engineering atleast, everything is a prerequisite or an antirequisite. Last year, I had no electives, all mandatory courses, and everything (except 1 class) was 1 core and 1 tutorial offered. So, if something conflicted, everyone would have that conflict, so theres nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I know engineering is like that just because it's such a condensed program. But I mean for other programs such as most science programs (probably not the specializations).

Yeah, you would definitively benefit from it especially when the time SOLAR reopens. You can switch things around faster.
