Malware detected when i visited macinsiders, is there a problem?
So i just login into my account in this site and it says:

''Warning: Something's Not Right Here!
www.macinsiders.com contains content from ad.bannerconnect.net, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.
We have already notified ad.bannerconnect.net that we found malware on the site. For more about the problems found on ad.bannerconnect.net, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page.

If you understand that visiting this site may harm your computer, proceed anyway.

Help improve detection of malware by sending additional data to Google about sites on which you see this warning. This data will be handled in accordance with the Safe Browsing privacy policies.''

What is this ad.bannerconnect.net? .... it seems that I don't want my computer to get viruses
Can someone please explain this scenario and will be appreciated by your response.

dam I was starting to get the same annoying message on my macbook pro when I visit macinsiders. But I was looking around for a solution and found this is a google thing. They made some new security shit and its blocking a bunch of sites, even though they may be safe. I was watching some videos on this site and just today it starts giving me this message. I then realized last night I had a "software" update and the safari browser was updated.

So what I did was just go to my browser settings and uncheck the box that says "warn me when I visit fraudulent websites" and problem solved.

Check your browser like I did. If you have google chrome you may want to check 'under the hood" tab. Let me know if you get this worked out

Well that would be just ignoring the problem, which may not be the best idea. Granted, for this site it's okay, but lets say you were to click on an innocuous-looking google link that really did lead to malware? I would rather have the warning.

It looks like this warning is coming up because of an ad on MI that could distribute malware if you click on it.

SO - Don't click on ads. Maybe notify an admin and see what they can do about removing the ad. Or just put up with the 1 extra click it takes to get here

: )

Bannerconnect is a third-party banner provider. The site is safe, Google is blocking ad company servers for some reason.

The website it is telling you which has ads on MI is known to distribute malicious things onto people's computers. If you already have an ad-blocker like most people, you have nothing to worry about.
