Mark issue 1% increase
Hello
unfortunately for in econ 1b03 I have a 68.6% and and I need 70% to be able to get a minor in business
I tried talking to Dr. Hannah holmes but she wouldn't even increase me 1.4%
Tried talking for 15minutes and she wouldn't help :(
is their anything I can do to get that 1.4%?
any one experienced this problem before?
I dont want to repeat this course just for 1.4%
thoughts on what I should do?
i really wanna get a minor in business
Thanks

Ye, that increase isn't going to happen. Essentially you could go to the APO office in DSB and ask them to
waive the requirement but let me warn you. If are getting a 66 in econ 1b03, you will likely fail 2aa3, 2ab3,2fa3 and 3fa3.

Tough luck, but seriously you scored that low? Did the exam own you or what happened?

It's unfortunate when your marks don't come out the way you want to, but I'd say 1.4% is a lot to ask for. It seems weird, but I'd have said if it was something < 0.5% you might have had more success. Not that I'm acquainted with any such occurrence before.

No chance for an increase. Most profs won't do such a thing.
Also, I should note that you need a 70% for Management. Is that what you meant? Just recognize that management is not a minor in business, as far as I know. Its something else.

^This. A Minor in Business is just taking the courses listed here and completing them.
Also, as Faer said, 1.4% is a big deal.

Yeah, you won't be getting or deserve that 1.4%.

I don't think it was the exam that killed your mark...

Econ and Accounting are very different courses so I doubt he would have trouble in that. As long as your in the slightest, interested in accounting and good with numbers (ie: not deriving them, just understanding what they really mean) you should be good in that. Finance on the other hand is a story for another day. Btw sorry to break the bad news, but DSB is usually pretty strict about meeting their requirements. You can always try and ask them but if you do, prepare for it like your preparing for a huge class presentation.

Indeed, 40x0.62 + ~4.5+60x(0.01(x1+x2) = 100
x1+x2= 117.83 => (117.83/200)x100 = 58.93 per midterm

Umm..You shouldn't be doing a minor in Business if you couldn't score at least a 10 in 1B03. I found the class boring too, didn't go to any classes, and studied the night before and still got an 11. And I'm a mediocre kid. But there isn't a class that's more straight forward than b03.
And the fact that you found the class boring, doesn't explain why you'd want to do a minor in a field related to that.

hope you figure it out somehow, maybe try schmoozing somehow if you're good at it. Anyways, just a friendly reminder not to listen to these asshats, they don't give a damn about your problem, and aren't trying to help in the least.

What problem? You got a crappy mark, get over it. Not gonna belabour the points raised by other people.
