I'll definitely try to get into it next year, hopefully you'll be TA-ing as well! Haha, anyone taking math second year definitely classifies as interested... I think

Dang, I was one of those poor students in 2X03, who was hoping you'd be there to help us out, haha!
Let's hope theres a good TA for 2X03, as well as 2C03 second semester

Melanie: 2X/2XX are 'similar' to 2A03 (you don't go into nearly as much depth in 2A however, since 2X/2XX is like 2A stretched out over a full year), so the material should be relatively fresh in my mind.

I'm obligated to put my own students first (those in 2A) but I'd be more than happy to help you and any of your classmates out should you, God-forbid, have a bad TA. I'm confident that you'll have a pretty good TA, but they may have to pick up a lot of extra slack given the professor, and not quite have the resources to do so.

So if you need any extra help, I'd be glad to accomodate you. I just want to see everyone succeed, and improve their relationship with math haha. It's funny how students generally have a distaste for math...until they do well in a math course. Then they love it! (I've seen this happen dozens of times)

I just hope they don't switch me off of 2A into another course again. :o "Early September" is still a long ways away.

EDIT: In case you don't happen upon this thread again, I'll PM this to you, so you see it for sure. (:

Thanks mowicz! I'll definitely PM you if I need help with some concepts and stuff.

Are you ever at math help centre as a tutor?

I am, but I haven't been assigned my office hours for September yet. I also offer private, one on one tutoring sessions, if anyone is interested. (:

Sorry to hear that ):

What do you think you'll do? You have a few options, but I don't know if any are reasonable for you.

Well... I'm pretty much limited to dropping 1C03, taking physics and then, maybe taking 1C03 next year, if I get the chance...

What sucks now is that I need another elective...GAH...

Aww, man. I'm so sorry :(. You can always drop one of them, and take it in the summer or next year!

I was thinking about that... But it's in the 1st semester... I'd have to do some major rearrangements.. lol. It's still an option...

Well, this is what I have right now:

1: Math 1B03, Math 1X03, Phys 1B03, Econ 1B03, CS 1MA3
2: Math 1XX3, Phys 1BA3, Econ 1BB3, Matls 1M03, *insert another elective here*

I really like my 1st term... so I'm trying to avoid changing it... but at the same time, I'm expecting that my 2nd term be a lot harder than the first... (which translates to = lets not switch math 1B03 into it...)

I just don't know what to take... at this point, I just wanna take whatever's relevant to my other courses... if anyone has any suggestions??

Why don't you take Math 1C03 and take Phys 1BA3 in the summer?

OH!

Comp Sci 1FC3. A crash course in set theory, proof, mathematical induction, etc. (:

Very useful to a math student...and it should be in 2nd semester.

Cause Physics is required while 1C03 is recommended!

CS 1FC3 is full!!! gah...

1BA3 is required for a math degree? o_O I guess you mean Mathematical Physics?

Then don't bother taking 1C03...you won't really need to go as in depth with the theory of math if you do Mathematical Physics... And even if you do later decide to go for abstract math (like Analysis or Topology), you should be okay without taking 1C03...I never took it. (:
