MATH 1M03 in PSYCH ?
hey guys !
so im at mac for psych and im trying to select all my courses befor SOLAR is acessible for my faculty (thurs) and im a bit unsure of whats going on w/ my prereqs. On the undergrad calendar for honours psych (BA) it states that i need MATH 1M03..however when i click on the details for that course it says the prereq for 1M03 is MATH 1K03 cause i didn't take calc or adv. functions in grade 12.. so does this mean i have to take 1K03 in term1 and 1M03 in term2 to satisfy my degree?..plz someone tell me this isn't true cause i succccccckk at math :(
and i inquired about this in grade 12 and was told i only had to take that one math to make up for not taking adv. functions/calc. in highschoool..now it looks as though im taking math for all of 1st year :|

helppppp plz & thnkss !

Yup, you're right.

You have to take 1K03 in term 1 and 1M03 in term 2.

There are lots of resources at your disposal, such as the Math Help Center (located in Hamilton Hall, the math building), and many graduate students who are happy to answer questions (myself included!)

The department of Math and Stats is generally full of nice people who want to see students succeed (with 2 or 3 exceptions). If you need private tutoring, there are lists posted all over the place with names of some great tutors.

Just do what needs to be done, you'll get through this math with a good mark and be able to move onto things more your style.

Yep! And check out http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?ui...046&topic=8752

I have lost all parts of my sanity answering questions there, it covers just about every single question you might have about socsci and more importantly is full of psych lost sheep for some reason and my answers to them! Your question was actually already answered there as well!

Hey so I took Advanced Functions in Grade 12 and I have been trying to get into Math 1M03 but it won't let me even though I have the pre-requisites! What do I do? Is it just a malfunction possibly?

Are you taking any of these courses? ARTS&SCI 1D06, ISCI 1A24, MATH 1A03, 1LS3, 1N03, 1X03, 1Z04.

If you aren't then I would contact the math department about getting a waiver.

It's Math 1X03 in that list, they don't repeat the word Math because it's assumed to be in the same category as the one before.

So...

You aren't taking Math 1A03, Math 1LS3, Math 1X03, Math 1N03 or Math 1Z04?

Like okay I want to do the combined honours psych and another subject (B.A). And on the paper they gave me at mac it says I need: 6 Units -> PSYCH 1X03 (or 1AA3), and 1XX3 (or 1A03) with a grade of at least B- in each
and then: 3 Units in some bio courses or grade 12 bio (which I have)
and then: 3 Units from MATH 1A03, 1LS3 or a grade of at least C- in MATH 1M03

But now on the website it says i cant take psych 1X03 if I take MATH 1M03?
thats super confusing.

wait you were on the correct path here! Those are exactly the requirments for getting into psych honours. You can take 1X03 without any requisites, only 1xx3 has bio as requisite and getting into honours has both bio and calculus as requisities!

No he's fine:

One of Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors U, Grade 12 Advanced Functions and Introductory Calculus U, MATH 1F03 or 1K03

He took advanced functions.
