Are math/chemistry tutorials worth going to?
For chemistry, my professor said that the tutorials are mostly just working on problem-solving with other people. The tutorial questions are posted online and they aren't for marks so I see no point in going to them.
On the other hand, there are the math tutorials. Apparently it's just review of everything you've done with problem-solving as well.
Is it worth going to or should I just skip and study other stuff?

It depends on whether or not you understand the course material at the time. If you do and have successfully completed the tutorial questions, the homework, and maybe the supporting questions, then you do not have to attend.
On the other hand, if you're lost, it may help.
Also, there's office hours held by the TAs or the professors if you miss the tutorial and are lost.
It's true for both courses.

I only went to 1 chem tutorial last year and it wasnt that useful. Since they post the answers in full, there is little reason to go unless you have done the question ahead of time and had problems.
As for math tutorials, if you dont know anyone else in engineering that could help you or you commute, they are useful since they take up questions from the textbook that people have problems with. I found the math help center far more useful (if they still have it) since you could get 1 on 1 help from a TA and otherwise the office hours for the profs were extremely useful too.

The best thing about tutorials is that it keeps you from slacking off. If you attend chem tutorials, you don't want to be the only one who HASN'T done the work. Plus, if you think "I'll take a look at it before the exam," trust me, there's no time. The only advantage is discipline. I attended quite a few tutorials in my first term, and barely a couple in the second. Result: slacked off and barely had any practice with questions.
Then again, that depends on you.
As for maths...
First term: Attended nearly all tutorials...sometimes the TA goes over a tricky problem or such that you might not know how to solve, so it helped.
Second term: The TA was an...well, I didn't like how he taught. o___o So I didn't attend any other tutorial.
This term: attended my first tutorial this term, half of it flew over my head and when the TA finished the proof, then only did I realize that he was just going over what we'd done in class. -.- Unimpressed.
So it depends on you. There's always TA hours in the basement of Thode. If you make yourself a regular there and DO YOUR QUESTIONS, you should be good. Just attend when you find a week's topic confusing or something.
EDIT: Oops, you're in Engineering...the above was a Life Sci POV.

To be honest, I find the math tutorials useless. Its in the biggest hall in MDCL, so you can imagine the number of people in the room, and yet the teacher uses a white board to write notes which people in the back can't see. He answers problems a lot individually which is super annoying, when there are like 400 people waiting for that one person to finally understand.

I would recommend going to the tutorial, as it will force you to stay on top of the material. It is entirely too easy to fall behind in chemistry.
This is doubly applicable to Chem 2OA3 and 2OB3.
