Math Summer School (Engineering)
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has taken any of the Engineering Maths in the summer (1ZA, 1ZB, 1ZC) and if they have any tips or advice to give me? There is a good chance I am going to be doing all of them in the summer (online possibly?) and I was wondering if anyone has been through a similar experience. If there is already a thread (I haven't found one) that would be great too.

Check out Athabasca if you want to do them online, however I'm not sure about how much easier it actually is. ZA and ZB are easy...ZC somewhat challenging, but nowhere near how hard the second year maths are!

Hey kevvmck, my friends who took 1za3 in the summer said that mclean was going hard on them and they weren't doing well, but somehow their marks went up after the exam, so i think either they had an easy exam/or got extra marks..

1ZB3: that course was hard in the summer, mclean was teaching. Class avg for first test was high 60ss but for second test was low 50ss, and the exam was actually hard..mclean said that a bell curve is gonna happen and ppl went up by like few percents.

1ZC3: mclean was not teaching the class i think it was wang. The 2 tests/midterms were not bad compared to the normal school year, they were simple and straightforward. Exam was not bad, but definitely more challenging than the midterms.

The above info is based on last summer, so i don't know how its gonna be this summer.
Good luck !

I wouldn't say 2Z03 is impossible --- provided u get any one else besides the current proff running the course, u should be good.

For instance, alot of us did the sample tests for 2Z03 test 2, which was in fact the 2010 test. Damn!!! was that test easy! And some one else was coordinating the course tht year.

However the test we did was a murder in broad day light! Nothing compared to the sample!

1ZB3 in summer is soo easy man. Anything in summer is, easy double digits no joke. And 1zb3, is the easiest eng course I think so far, and 1c03 as well

If you didn't take 1zb3 in the summer then you don't know what you are talking about. When i took 1zb3 during the term i got a 7 in it, and when i took it again summer school i got a 9 in it. Let me tell you something, McLean's tests for 1zb3 in the summer were harder than our normal tests. Taking 1zb3 for the second time, i thought i was gonna get a 12 (i thought it was gonna be an easy "double digit"as you said). Also, the exam in the summer was so hard, i was sweating in that exam. It wasn't easy man, and i actually worked hard on it !

When I took it during the year, I had a 7 in it, when I took it in summer, I had a 12.
guess it varies person to person

Out of curiosity, why did the two of you even retake it if you passed and got 7s in it?

Some people don't like money. 12+7 / 2 = 9.5.... like 800 bucks for 2.5 grade points? Working out to a fraction of a grade point year CA?

Nope, I needed to pull my GPA up, so Sally said, think which course you can do good in, so I took 1ZB3, and they coutned it as a whole new course, meaning they added the units
so 800 bucks for 5 grade points plus not to mention the (12*3) 36 more points!
