McMaster Email - Phishing Scam?
So I just received a message via the McMaster email system stating the following:

Quote:
Your e-mail account can not be upgraded to our
latest e-mail service (2010 version) because of errors
51526A code in our database system

Please provide our customer with the information
below so that your e-mail account will be upgraded or your account
temporarily excluded from our services.


1st Email Address
2nd E-mail Password
3rd Phone Number

Management
Sender is from @earthlink.net so its obviously shady.
Just wondering if anyone else has received this message?

Yep it's a scam, not to mention a poorly executed one (I love how the person sends the email with an earthlink address and signs "management"). UTS will never, EVER ask you for your password over an email.


Also, make sure you're only entering your MacID+password to https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca , muss.cis.mcmaster.ca or https://maccess.mcmaster.ca/portal/dt servers. You can check by right-clicking the page and clicking on "View Page Info" for Firefox or "Properties" for IE.

Well, your MUGSI contains information like:

Addresses
Telephone Numbers
SIN

You can get a lot of information from other companies by just using those 3 things.

Yeah, you only need to put your SIN if you are receiving a McMaster Bursary (I don't think you need if it you are receiving OSAP but I'm not sure).
