Don't forget to get painted up on game day by the Maroon reps during the game day event!

This game will decide whether we take home field advantage for the playoffs or not, so lets kick some Guelph a*s!

After the football game, the Women's and Men's volleyball teams start there season with matches against Brock and York at 6pm and 8pm respectively.
Think you're going to get to 1280 a little late after going to all these games. Bring your Homecoming ticket to 1280 and get free line bypass!

This year for Homecoming aside from all the events on campus, we are trying to get the whole community involved by displaying our Marauder pride with Homecoming Lawn signs. Wouldn't it be great if the entire Westdale community was covered in Maroon? Send an email to [email protected] .com with your address and we will put up a McMaster Homecoming sign on your lawn. Then after Homecoming you have a free sign!

McMASTER SURVIVES WINDSOR 15-14 IN OVERTIME

October 17, 2009

Windsor, Ont - The #10 Ranked McMaster Marauders defeated the Windsor Lancers 15-14 in overtime at Alumni Field on the University of Windsor campus Saturday night.

In extra time, the University of Windsor won the coin toss, but on the first play, McMaster defensive back, Michael Daly (Kitchener, Ont) intercepted the pass thrown by Lancer backup quarterback, Greg Orsini (Woodbridge, Ont).

On the next drive, McMaster kicker, Andy Waugh (Perth, Ont) had
his 14 yard field goal blocked by the Lancers and returned to the Marauder end zone but a Windsor penalty would negate the return.
The officials ruled that the McMaster field goal was blocked, but that a Windsor player had committed an illegal block in the end zone on the return. Because the illegal block occurred in the end zone, the blocked field goal was deemed to have not been carried out of the end zone, and McMaster was awarded a rouge (single point), and would win the game by a one-point margin.

McMaster generated almost twice the offense as the Lancers, amassing 509 yards of net offense on the game compared to 259 for Windsor. The McMaster offensive output was negated by turnovers and penalties.

McMaster turned the ball over three-times as much as the Lancers, losing the ball six times (three fumbles and three interceptions) to Windsor’s pair of turnovers (one interception and one fumble)

McMaster, the second least penalized team in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) coming into the game were flagged for 21 penalties for 170 yards to the Lancers five penalties for 56 yards.

McMaster running back, Joey Nemet (Burlington, Ont) rushed for 164 yards on 23 carries. Jordan Kozina (Brantford, Ont) added 116 yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts.

McMaster quarterback, Kyle Quinlan (South Woodslee, Ont) completed 11 of 23 passes for 154 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in his first start in his home region.

Matt Peressini (Hannon, Ont) led McMaster with 5 catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Windsor, starting quarterback, Sam Malian (Lasalle, Ont) was injured in the second quarter, and was replaced by Greg Orsini. Orsini completed nine of 17 passes for 89 yards. Lancer running back, Kamar Anglin (Newmarket, Ont) carried the ball 10 times for 64 yards while receiver, Nick Baldassi (Windsor, Ont) caught 5 passes for 76 yards.

University of Windsor, fifth year, linebacker, John Celestino (Windsor, Ont) had 11.5 tackles and a forced fumble.

McMaster (5-2) will celebrate their 72nd Annual Homecoming next Saturday at 1:00 PM at Ron Joyce Stadium when they play host to the University of Guelph (4-3)

The University of Windsor (2-5) travel to the capital region next Saturday at 1:00 PM to face the #9 University of Ottawa (5-2)

That "carnival" today was a disappointment. It was just loud music and a wheel.

Don't get me wrong! I love homecoming and I've seen some awesome events on campus before. But this one fell flat for me. I was hoping for something more.
