McMaster Rowing is Looking for Novice Recruits
The McMaster Rowing team is looking to boat male and female crews this upcoming fall. If you find yourself to be relatively fit, eager to engage new challenges and most of all are committed, we implore you to contact us, as you will make a nice addition to our 2010 novice roster.

We are also looking for recruits specifically with smaller body frames for the role as coxswain or “coxie” for short. What makes this position so vital is that you will not only keep the boat on course but also provide motivation to the men and women propelling it.

There is no experience necessary. You will learn the art of rowing under the guidance of experienced coaches and then apply these skills as you compete head to head against many of the rival universities around Ontario.

Not only will you be learning one of the most exhilarating sports around, rowing is a great way to stay fit, implement time management strategies and most of all make friendships that will endure past your time here at McMaster.

If this sounds like it might interest you, please contact us at
[email protected] m or find our booth at Clubs Fest on Welcome Week.

Yeah! Rowing is the best! I started novice at mac and have been rowing since. We normally practice at Leander Boat Club at the end of bay street, but we usually carpool or bike together down to make sure everyone who wants to learn can get there. Usually you also form groups and practice in the pulse for secondary workouts.

Rowing will take you from slopper to proper! But seriously, if the suits knew rowing at McMaster was as fun as it is they would criminalize it. The mix of endorphins, and comradery is addictive. The best times of my life have been spent pulling on an oar with these guys.
