McMaster on Strike
There has been a lot of talk going to around about this, but everyone is really unclear on what is going on. Can someone please clarify this?

There is most likely not going to be a strike.

The CAW, representing the academic staff at Mac, have voted in favour of strike action, which is different than actually voting for going on strike....

Basically, they've said "we'll go on strike if we don't get an acceptable agreement".

The university, as far as we know so far, plans on continuing classes like normal if there happens to be a strike.

Negotiations are also happening between McMaster and the union representing the TA's/RA's, and the Post-Doctoral fellows have already agreed to a contract but there's not much other news on that front so far.

PS: This is being talked about in relative detail here: http://www.macinsiders.com/showthread.php?t=2272 5

I clicked on this thread expecting to see that part of McMaster had gone on strike.

Phew!
