Another alternative is that after you swipe your card, the cash register will say your balance at the bottom of the screen. Just ask the cashier that you want to see your balance and she won't clear it for the next person.

And you can always ask for a receipt, which shows you your balance at the bottom

Haha, well they have the little receipt machine thing. So I decided to ask on my first day here, and realized it works!

Oooh. I never bothered asking because they were always really packed when I bought food and I felt like they'd probably glare at me when I asked for holding up the line for 3 seconds.
More off campus people need to put money in their card. It's refundable, saves you from getting tons of change and really speeds up the line (swipe vs. hand over bills, they count out change and give it back to you)

Also, using money from your student card means you are saving on tax.

Lol for the off-campus refundable plan (not the $55/week, you save it you lose it) it's 4%... so for every $100 you spend, you save $4 but hey, it something

I just put money in my Freedom... I think it's 100$ at a time. It rolls over at the end of the year.
Not sure if that was what you are talking about...

Yeah I think that's it. You have to start it with a minimum of $150 but after that finishes you can add however much you want to. DDDDDDDDDDD
I don't remember the names of the accounts... :(

also, you can get this form online at the mcmaster hospitality services website; fill it out and take it to the office in the Commons building; after that you can do it online with a credit card!
