I don't think the jacket is restricted to engineers. I've seen a guy in biopsych with one. titles had some people in during the beginning of the year who were taking orders. they're mad expensive though :\

They were wearing same color backpacks so maybe different colors means different years. I could be wrong though, this is my best guess.

They're not available at the bookstore - they're given out during O-Week in August. You're correct that different colours are for different years (this year's is silver, last year's was red, etc.)

Lol, yeah, it's got good padding I guess. Gets my stuff from point A to point B just like it's supposed to.

The way he described was as if it were some magical backpack that left him in awe.
I'm disappointed.

Pfft, that's because their backpack is grey. The red for the 2012s and even the blue of 2011 smoke the grey. Tbomb, You guys are incognito

In all honesty I expect a super hyper awesome backpack with like scalpels and clamps hanging from the sides, filled with gauze, bandages, various general medications, stool and urine samples, eighteen 1000 page textbooks, gray's anatomy and covered in coagulated blood.
This has been a disappointment.

Are they the ones I see piled up in a group of 20 at the anatomy lab?
Either way, uniformity scares me, and my backpack is better in every possible way.
