Meet the Mayor Event
Hey all,

There is going to be an open meeting with Mayor Fred Eisenberger on May 21st at 5pm, at the Staircase Café/Theatre. The Staircase Cafe is located on 27 Dundurn Street N in Hamilton, Ontario.

The meeting serves as an opportunity for everyone between the ages of 14 and 25 to meet the Mayor and let him know which issues are important to us not only as students of McMaster, but also as Hamiltonians. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to the Mayor on a range of issues. All are invited!

AndrewC, fullsmash26, laurastevens all say thanks to Goce for this post.

Just to chime in, this is an excellent opportunity to gauge the mayor's thoughts on Mac and on the issues concerning us as students. Especially now, with the bad rap we've been getting from certain councillors, we need allies on our side.

Municipal government is the most underrated level of government, dealing with millions of things that impact our daily lives. With an election coming up next year, we have to start getting more involved!

Yeah, I know...shameless plug for the Non-Partisan Society, but we actively work on advocacy surrounding municipal issues.

Get out there and talk to Mayor Fred!

*UPDATE*

Refreshments will be provided, and the event is FREE! You just have to be there on May 21st, 2009 at 5 PM.

All interested in the environment and the role of students in helping to preserve the environment should come out. This is your chance for a Q&A session with Mayor Fred Eisenberger.

You can RSVP your spot at [email protected].
