Vote Mayor Fred @ MAC !
Hi guys,

As you all know, mayoral elections are just around the corner this fall, and a Vote Mayor Fred campaign is being launched at MAC starting next week to show student's support in the mayor's re-election. We're looking for anyone who is interested in helping out next week at a table at ClubsFest. Please email : [email protected] if you are interested! Let's show the city that Mac students support Mayor Fred!

Thanks!

Just as a heads up for everyone All Hamilton Mayoral Candidates will be attending a Debate in the MUSC Atrium on Friday 15th of October! I myself as External Affairs Commissioner will also be trying to interview as many candidates as possible and especially try and get their platform concerning students and views on various "points of interest for McMaster Students"(I'll keep them a secret for now). I'll then publish a report of sorts on MI/MSU Website etc.

Also, the Sil might be covering them with me or separately as well. The unfortunate deal though is that this time around the city has refused to give McMaster its separate polling station. Although on the day of election we will have volunteers to walk/bus people to the nearest polling stations(eg: Dalewood school).

But Roxy if you could try and work out a polling station for Campus that would be ton's of brownie points for Mayor Fred! It's going to be pretty hard to convince people to vote off campus.

I'll let Roxy give her spiel about why Mayor Fred for Re-Election since It's inappropriate in my role to endorse someone. But from what I can say, As a random example I was happy & impressed with the Fred's actions during the recent and ongoing Pan Am Games Stadium Issue. He was committed to ensuring he follows what various experts have said was best for the city aka West Harbour and did his best to deal with various councilors and Ti-Cats. Eventually the council did choose West Harbour in early August, though now we are somewhat back to ground zero and they are considering putting it at Main & Longwood near McMaster. Oh and he also acknowledge the MSU's official stance in favor of West Harbour, which was nice to hear.

But obviously that is just one issue out of the whole pie of issues that a Mayor needs to deal with and there obviously are critics of Mr Eisenberger. I suppose you'll hear more from both sides when campaign period begins?
