First try searching the article in the main catalouge page (library.mcmaster.ca) by putting its title .
If you cant find the article, then you can try selecting a database depending on subject of the article and search for that article in the database/journal. The database tab is right beside catalouge on the library homepage.

I would go to Google Scholar. Click on Scholar Preferences and type in 'McMaster' in library links. Then check off 'McMaster University Library - get it @ Mac'. Save Preferences at bottom. Then you can search your journal. If Mac has access to it there will be a 'get it @ Mac' link. Hope this helps.
