Hey guys,
I just thought I'd let you all know something that is apparently very important regarding minifridges, but that I had no idea about until I did some research on the internet (am I a bit pathetic for researching care of minifridges?) Since I didn't think of it, I'm sure there's others who didn't think of it here!
Anyways, they're supposed to be upright all the time. Most of us will probably be travelling with them flat, right? If you DO travel with yours flat, you should stand it upright for 12 hours before plugging it in so that all the fluid can get back in the proper locations- if you plug it in prior to 12 hours, it can actually burn itself out and depending on the brand, that voids any warrenty, so you're out of luck.

just bought mine the other day...for anyone still shopping around for one, walmart has them on sale for $120 (and danby 3.2 cubic inch is $130)...which is a lot cheaper than the $180 original price.

Was wondering if any of the welcome week move in reps could comment on this. But, when I bring my fridge to residence, would you guys prefer it to be repackaged in the box? Or would you guys rather just have the fridge by it self. My dad and I are debating on which would be easier to move.(Also, by keeping it in the box, less chance of damage). Any insight would be helpful.

I'm not a rep, but out of logic thinking, i would think the box is easier, since it has handles at the side and it protects it at the same time.

Oh shoot.. stupid walmart >.<, I don't think it really matters that way, except for the fact that the box is merely extra protection

They do have those shipping straps that are kind of handy, but odds are that they've been cut off
Yeah, I like the thought of leaving it in the box... Maybe it would be a bit of a pain for the movers to have it in the box, but it is extra protection...

Actually, I think it would be easier, that's just me though , and it's not like the box is THAT heavy to worry about.
