Yes, Dark City is an excellent choice. Other "dark" movies that I recommend: Pi, Brazil, Requiem For A Dream, Mulholland Drive, Let The Right One In, Pan's Labyrinth, [Rec], Moon (this one fits more under science fiction, but it's an excellent movie)
I highly recommend Pi. I've been wanting to watch it again for a while now. It's quite eeire, dark, and weird, but also very very cool. It's also stylishly filmed in high contrast black and white and has a few odd/horrific scenes.
Mulholland Drive is also excellent. It's very dreamlike and surreal.
Pan's Labyrinth has stunning cinematography and special effects. Let The Right One In is all around amazing with very good acting.

Personally I thought Pi was garbage :/
Everything he's done since was amazing (barring The Fountain's incomprehensible hole-filled plot), but in my 3 viewings of Pi, I still found myself not caring all that much about the plot. Too much of that quintessential "kafka-esque" bullshit floating around. Ants, etc..

If you haven't seen Christopher Nolan's first actual feature film other than some shorts, check out Following, it's pretty dark and pretty well done.

I actually think that The Mist is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. XDD
But thanks everyone for the suggestions. n_n

lol, I think we've gone over this exact thing before, we seem to have different tastes. In that case skip 1408 as well, that film is a bit hit and miss, but Let Me In is almost universally acclaimed.

Let me in - Definitely a good one. Very slow pace though. The ending is worth it, the shock on the boy's face will be the same shock on your.
Splice - Genetic manipulation, who doesn't love watching how beau horti ribful le the result can be?
The Hills Have Eyes - First one is the best (isn't it always?). Remind you that without order, there will always be chaos. The strong will always rule the weak.
Saw (all of them) - Although some of the later films lack the brilliant the original Saw had, they are still worthwhile to watch. I respect the underlying message. Love your life.... or lose it.
Silent Hill - I never played this game series, but I sure love the film. The transition that occurs when the sirens wail was especially good.
Cube - They sure saved a lot of money by making the set into one room.
For a break from those gory/dark stuff:
Brick - When you need to, will you have the courage to do it? It is one of those movie that will surely help you grow some balls.
500 Days of Summer - Just finished watching this the other day. Love it. Who can't relate to the main character? We all done it one time or another. This film takes us through it all and expose that, while in relationships, we need to see what is given not what we expect.
