Movie Rentals
Does anyone know of the closest place around here to rent movies?! Like a Blockbuster, or ever something smaller but with good movie selection.

Mills has movies for rent; I'm not sure if you are allowed to take them home though. Not sure what kind of movies are out there but they had fight club which=win!

You could always watch them in the Lyons Media Center.

That's likely why we're not permitted to take them home...

I know this is a bit old but as student employee for Class Room Audio Visual (which runs the Lyons new media centre) I figured I could comment on this.

We do have quite a good collection at mills but the reason we don't let student take them out is that they have to be available for professors (both at McMaster and other universities in Ontario) to use in lectures and for students to review. As we only have around 2000 videos (most of which are documentaries), and there is over 16,000 students at McMaster you can imagine how depleted our video library would be if we allowed students to rent them out. Even professors have to return them by the next day.

There is good news though. You might have noticed the construction on the 4th floor of Mills. Once that is done we are moving up there and will have a dedicated viewing section, so you wont have to sit in the stacks.

andrew22 says thanks to collinbf for this post.

The first rule of fight club:
You don't talk about the fight club.

Renting movies? Do you live in the 20th century or something? Use the interweb.

Yup it is true. You can look up movies in the lyons catalogue at http://library.mcmaster.ca/lyons and you can ask to watch one at the circulation desk.

Sorry for the late reply, busy week.
