How to MSAF
Hi guys,
I have a midterm coming up this week and I don't know if I'll be ready for it. I have never MSAF'd anything before and I was wondering how I would do it. Do I email the form before or after the midterm and how do I confirm that it went through?
Thanks!

Make sure it's worth less than 30% first. If it is, wait 1 day after the midterm ends and then submit the form. After you do contact the prof via email about it and they will transfer the weight of that midterm to the final exam.

It is not necessary to wait one day later, and there is no guarantee that it will get moved to your exam - it depends on the class/prof and this is usually specified in the course outline. You may have to do a make-up, especially if the exam is not cumulative.
Also, I don't believe it's something you email. Last I checked, it was an online form that you submit.

You do have to fill out the online form but you also have to follow up with the prof via email. And yeah, no 100% guarantee that it will move to your exam but most of the time that is what happens.

Thanks guys! I'll see if I can get all the content down and if not, I'll fill out the form.
I also have an assignment due this week, would the MSAF apply to that as well or does it only work for one thing?

I think it works for anything within a 5-day period. You should seriously consider the repercussions of doing this, though.
Also, assignments are typically just given an extension (not always though - again, it depends on the prof).

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm most likely not going to do this because I want my exam to be weighted as little as possible
and I'm pretty sure for the assignment, the prof said that MSAFs will get a 2-day extension
