Every year the MSU honours the contributions of the McMaster community at its Student Recognition night, at which five awards are given: the Honour M Award (the MSU's highest honour), the MSU Merit Scholarship Award, J. Lynn Watson Award, the MSU Spirit Award and the Rudy Heinzl Award of Excellence.

Last year, MacInsiders executives Temara Brown, Chad Fullerton and Danielle Lorenz were nominated for the Honour M, with Ms. Brown winning the award. Additionally, MacInsiders was nominated for the Rudy Heinzl Award last year.
