Students Of Distinction
Awarding Student Leadership
CHAD FULLERTON, MACINSIDERS
Announced at Student Recognition Night held in CIBC hall last Wednesday evening, there is a new award in town. It's called "MSU Students of Distinction" and you can nominate your friends whom you think have played a big role in showing leadership and/or improving student life at McMaster! Some further information about the award will be published in the Silhouette this week (on the President's Page). The awards are given out on a monthly basis starting up again in September 2008.
The new award follows in the footsteps of a previous award by the MSU that was discountinued years ago. However, Ryan Moran decided to start reissuing the award to recognize students who have gone out of their way to make McMaster a better place... and decided to rename the award to what is now known as "Students of Distinction".
Among the recipients of the inaugural awarding of the first awards during the Student Recognition Night Dinner were your very own Danielle Lorenz (MacInsiders Exec) and myself (MacInsiders President). We're honored to have each been given this award, and think Ryan has done an amazing job bringing the award back. There are hundreds of students on campus that work behind the scenes who deserve such an award, and I hope that come September you'll nominate people that you know who fit this profile. The nomination form can be found
here, and more info is on the MSU website
here.
