The McMaster Maroon Society was founded in 1992 by the MSU President, Eme Onuoha. What once began as a club, eventually became a society and in 1998 with an SRA decision, the Maroons became an MSU service.
The purpose of the service is to generate school spirit and pride and provide opportunities for students to meet other people and get involved in their school. The Maroons intend to enhance the level of student participation in extracurricular activities both on and off campus and to establish and sustain a unified identity amongst all students at McMaster University.
