New Eng Building Opening Ceremonies
This October 24, 2009, from 1PM to 4PM, McMaster will be hosting the opening ceremonies for the New Engineering Building. This includes a tour of the building, a viewing and silent auction “Engineering in Art,”, a welcome from Dean David Wilkinson, unveilings of a Kipling Painting (Presentation by Kipling Wardens, Camp XIII), a living wall (Presentation by Class ’61), and of a tree and bench (Presentation by Past MES President, Steve Remilli). There will also be a burial of time capsule.
There is also a surprise unveiling presented by Dr. Phil Wood, AVP, Student Affairs and Dean of Students
There will be entertainment provided by a jazz band, a chocolate fountain, Italian pastries, fireball cupcakes, and coffee.
Come out and join alumni, faculty and friends at the opening of the New Engineering Building.

And what's the story behind it again? I can't remember....

Well they said that several of these were commissioned by the first professor of sculpting at... a university i cant remember, for expo 67, and then they were given out all across canada. Mac's Togo Salmon put in a bid for one of them stating that it would be a good symbol to have in the centre of studying arts and humanities.
Also, its real name is "Chimeric Figure".
(And it was taken out of commission after engineers painted it/did many other things to it for many years)
