Music Vocal Course
Hey. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a vocal first year course? Pretty much for beginners... I've been looking into it, however, most say some type of audition is required? How would that work? Would I sign up for that course, but then... a week into the semester, if I'm not eligible, I would just have to choose another course?

Thanks.

If you do the course Music 1/2/3/4G03, you can audition for any of the music ensembles. The vocal ones are the McMaster University Choir and the Women's Voice Ensemble.

Basically you would go to the first rehearsal of the year, try singing some of the music and sign up for an audition time. At this point, you haven't put it into your timetable yet, so just put in a course you would intend to drop if you got in. If you have a successful audition, you get waived into the course and often times this is after the drop/add date so it's kind of a hassle and you have to visit the School of the Arts office.

Anyway, as for a beginners class, there isn't really one available as far as the course calendar goes, but you can always try contacting the School of the Arts to find out more.

Hope that helps!
