Need an invigilator for a distance-education course midterm!
hi,

i am taking a distance education course at a university in another province. in order to write my midterm at mcmaster i need to find an invigilator. i contacted mcmaster scheduling and examinations and the person they provided is asking for $100 and I have 2 midterms and an exam so thats 300 on top of the course fees i am paying already.

However, it doesn't say that we NEED to have a university invigilator. under the options it says "Junior/Senior secondary teacher, Faculty member, Faculty admin and university/college public librarian" and that "it can't be a family member or family friend".

I am wondering what other people in the same situation have done so if anyone has advice please let me know! i really don't have 300 to blow like that :(

Well if it says librarian get in touch with the people at Mills and see what they have to say.

One of my friends got one of their high school teachers to do it. So I would try that?

Are you doing it through Athabasca?

There's a lot of the tutoring centres who do it for much cheaper! Start out with some of the people on here:
http://registrar.athabascau. ca/invignet/on.php
Not many in Hamilton but there are a few in the surrounding areas
E.g. Redeemer College in Ancaster is only $40 or $15/hr at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga
Alternatively, you could ask one of your highschool teachers, or any high school nearby?

Look for invigilation centers in the area... 40-50$ per exam is about right, $100 is a ripoff
