I can't use anything Canadian from the time period above because my students can use it as well. Thus why I said American/British from 1959-1972 or Canadian after that time period.

I'd have loved to use Neil Young or CSNY for example...but can't. :(
I really love that you said this. So many teachers use examples that are actually a great choice but now you can't use them because the teacher already has! I really love that you took that into account.

lol. My mom says "The Who" for both, so I can't tell them apart whatsoever.

Oh well, close enough?

You could probably cheat and do something like "Born in the USA" if you want to stay out of the options for the students (lovely sentiment, BTW, I don't know how many times teachers have used my examples). Its 80s, but its all about Vietnam and the whole antiwar thing, so its easy to link. Essp with the way its sung/how the score goes (I dont know what you actually call it, lol)

"We Didn't Start the Fire" is like the History Department's theme song, if you really wanted to go for historical events hardcore (and not much else).

This is what we analyzed in the second class of Soc 1A06 last year. After this class, I dropped it.

I actually really, really want to use Bad Moon Risin' by CCR because it's one of my favourite songs ever. But then I actually have to go through the lyrics and interpret it...and I'm lazy, haha.
