The McMaster Students Union has announced that Ehima Osazuwa has won the 2015 MSU Presidential election.
The fourth year Chemical Engineering and Management student will begin his term May 1, 2015.
Some of Osazuwa’s platforms points include:
- Inter faith accessibility
- Late night food options on campus
- Changing single-stall washrooms into gender-neutral washrooms
- Increasing the numbers of women in governance
- Improved accessibility on campus
- Improved club support
- Lowering tuition costs

Voter turnout was at an all-time high with 8,858 student votes cast – that’s 42.2 per cent of 20,977 eligible voters.
In addition to the presidential elections, several referenda were also held.
An increase to the MSU health plan of $18.50 to cover 80 per cent of the cost of all prescription contraceptives passed.
An increase to the MSU health plan of $32 to cover vision care and paramedical services passed.
The referendum concerning changes to the MSU Constitution passed.

The Student Life Enhancement Fund also closed closed on Jan. 29. The two most popular projects are First Floor MUSC Upgrades and Outdoor Fitness Circuit & Bouldering Wall. With respective estimated costs of $100,000 and $130,000, both will be guaranteed funding by the Student Services Committee, the body that oversees Student Life Enhancement funding.
