With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii all of the polls are closed. CNN is Projecting that Obama has won the election.
We are watching history in the making...More information to come...
Via CNN -- Sen. John McCain on Tuesday urged all Americans to join him in congratulating Sen. Barack Obama on his projected victory in the presidential election. With his projected win, Obama will become the nation's 44th president and its first African-American leader.Obama will address the country from a rally in Chicago, Illinois, at midnight.
McCain Accepts Defeat
Update 11:20pm: McCain has congratulated Obama on the win in a televised address.
Update 12:20am: Obama has given his President Elect speech.
Now we'll get to see how things will change; at the least, I think he'll be better then Bush (though I'd imagine it wouldn't be that hard lol). I personally didn't like any of the candidates ^^;
anyone else think CNN has a bit too much say in this? Obama hasn't won, he's "projected" to win. I know he most likely will, looking at the way the election is going I see that... but they gave him over 70 votes with 0% reporting from all three west coast states. and then projected him winning. that seems a little extreme to me...

Even though I wanted Obama to win, McCain's speech was very, very good. I hope you all got the opportunity to watch it.
Aaand if you didn't hopefully someone can find it and post it for me...

lol! I don't think we're sailing clear waters just yet! I'm very curious as to how pressing issues will be put into action. Obama made a lot of "promises" to do this and that without given too many clear solutions if I recall correctly while McCain - not that much better - did at least address issues more thouroughly then his opponent.
But I'm still confident that Obama will clean up some of the messes left after the Bush administration, that's for sure.
