I disagree. Yes, it's the state's job to protect it's citizens but that can easily be done by locking up people. There is no need to kill anyone. What gives us the right to execute other people? We just end up being as bad as them.
Sadly the reason why some countries have capital punishment (in my opinion) is because it costs A LOT to keep these people alive: Space/shelter, food, hygiene, guards, etc...
Would you care to start the thread Ben?

People wouldn't do half the shit they do if they knew there'd actually be serious repercussions for their actions.

I thought it was common practice for people to avoid microwaving food in plastic containers, "microwave safe" or not. Ceramic is much safer.
Still, it's hard to find a Nalgene bottle for adult use after that media scare. That was what my initial post was referring to.

That was not mentioned in your post so I took it as general as possible.
Yeah, I use metal bottles to put my drinks in though. I got them for free (high school, McMaster) so there's no point in my buying a nalgene bottle. But if I got one for free I would still use it :\

Nalgenes... I remember those. Every time I'd go to camp, there would always be one kid attempting to smash it because of Nalgene's claim that their bottles were virtually indestructible, and would replace yours if it ever received a crack or something.

People that end up in situations like that usually don't spend much time thinking :p.

Fill it to the brim with water, put the cap on and store it in the freezer?

LOL, I remember someone threw it at their car window and then the window shattered.
Apparently they make BPA free ones now, http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorge.../EQU0024M.html
