C = Core
T = Tutorial
L = Lab

Like I said, don't worry too much about that stuff now. Just look at "Term 1" or "Term 2," its listed at the top somewhere.

For example, Chem 1A03 is always term 1 and Chem 1AA3 is always term 2. Now you have four slots to fill on each term. Math 1A03 is term 1, while the Bios can be either. Psych 1X03 is term 1, psych 1XX3 is term 2. <<--- I'm just saying figure that out, and pick which term you want for the ones that run both terms because its what SOLAR is going to ask for the first time.

So far (using the courses I mentioned above)

TERM 1: Chem 1A03, Psych 1X03, Math 1A03, (course), (course)
TERM 2: Chem 1AA3, Psych 1X03, (course), (course), (course)

That's all you need to do right now. L/T/C only matters right now for things that can fit into both semesters. For example, Bio 1M03. It has a few cores, but if all the semester 1 cores (or tutorials) conflicted with the chem lectures, then you would have take it in semester 2. Sorry if I confused you with all that.

**Just to be clear, you only need one core, one lab and one tutorial session for each course (unless there is no lab or tutorial)

Worry about cores, tutorials and labs when you get the computer generated timetable, since right now you can't specify them anyway.

@sana
I wouldn't worry about spots being taken, are you as you were accepted, they can't take it away from you. And I'm still technically in Life Sci, so don't worry, lol.

Did you check the Grade Report and scroll to the bottom?
Yes, I checked Grade Report and I saw the eligble programs, its just that these eligible programs don't show up on Solar under eligible programs. :S
Is this the same for you?

how does the timing with labs and tutorials work though?
They will put you in your sections, then when SOLAR reopens you can change it if you want.

like jhan said, all you have to do on Solar on the 27th is pick your courses. thats it. the computer will figure out the times.
then why create a mock timetable? to get an idea of what a potential timetable could look like

What about timing? They will automatically give you one later, and then its up to you to change the times around if you don't like them.

It is Chem? EOW means "every other week" and in the case of Chem, the labs and tutorials alternate - week one you have a lab, week two you have a tutorial, etc.

There may be some courses where you will be able to pick your sections, but it's generally for smaller/upper year courses.

You can always PM me if you want extra help or something, and most people on here are quite happy to help if you ask them.

You can also talk to someone at the faculty if you are really confused.

Hey,
Im I was in lifesci first year, and am continuing on in second year.

My first year I toook....
CHEM 1A03
CHEM 1AA3
BIO 1M03
BIO 1AO3
PSYCH 1X03
- I found this one really really dry.
PSYCH 1XX3 - This one was wayyyy bettterr.

MATH 1LS3
- This class is a joke. If you did well in gr 12, you'll be fine/bored. So if your up for a challange take 1A03 cause it's legit math.

PHYSICS 1B03
- was a challenge... if you haven't taken physics before take the 1L03. I had taken physics in highschool and found this class rather hard. You dont need 1B03/1L03 to get into LIFE SCI II. I believe it says that you need to complete it before the end of second year. SO if by then you dont change about getting into lifesci then you can take it in the summer - which is do-able, if you really dont want to take it during the year.

My electives were two music classes (MUSIC 1A03 & 1AA3), totally unrelated to science. It gave my brain a break thinking about all that sciencey stuff! But I know if you are in ENVIRO you have to take the 2/3 ENVIRO classes. So there you have it.

If you have any further questions I'll be more than happy to help.

Im going into first year life science and am deciding on electives...

Heyy C:
I took Econ 1BB3 and History 1AA3 with science courses.
I'd personally reccommend taking both Econs... History was great lecture-wise, but I found it was extremely difficult to keep up with history and science classes.

My econ class was a lot easier.
I missed a lot of lecture (3 hours of night class was pretty painful) and still managed to do really well.

Thanks alot naakamura! =)

Another question:
Whats someone's opinion on Kinesiol. 1A03 as an elective? Is it a fairly "easy" course?
