Which is better for classes?

Or which one do you prefer the best?

Both seem to have their pro's and con's, just wondering what you guys thought

Pencil and paper, even though I love my computer and am on it hours a day haha.

I had every intention of going the laptop route when I started university, but you just can't match the organization, personalization, and studying ease that good old-fashioned handwritten notes give you.

well it acutally depends on you. if u feel more comfortable on a laptop taking notes then i suggest using ur laptop whereas if u cant type fast like me then pen and paper would work better.

also for some courses such as math and chemistry i would suggest using pen and paper

Laptop is a huge distraction (not only for you but for other people too), and many lecture halls have small-folding-desk things and your laptop may drop if you're not careful enough.

Old is Gold, Pen & Paper

If you're faster at writing than typing, then go with pen and paper.

Laptops can be convenient otherwise.

However, if you're a course where you might need to draw diagrams and whatnot, it's good to keep pen and paper with you either way
(or get a tablet. More than 70% of my notes are handwritten but done on a tablet =/)

Theres only 2 things most people do in class...

Games: Laptop
Notes: pen + paper

If you don't want to fail, get some the higher end disposable pens(I use the white-translucent Bic) and a McMaster 5 subject notebook. This setup doesn't break your back or bank and it gives you freedom to learn. I also make the notebook mine by taping my timetable to the inside cover

I would add physics to that list. Pretty much any course that requires a lot of numbers and symbols.

I use pen and paper, even the the classes where you would usually see a lot of laptops (Humanities, Soc Sci...). But I'm ridiculously fast at writing, so it might be different.

Try them both, but I wouldn't go out and buy a laptop just for notes.

I just buy 1 notebook per subject. I only end up using 1-2 notebooks by the end of the year since the other subjects do not require one.. but w/e notebooks are cheap @ walmart.

I use pen and paper.

And notebooks are great. And get at least 200pg notebooks.

Ya, I started doing the same thing at the beginning of last semester. It's a lot easier since notebooks take up little space compared to binders.

Ya I hate binders because they take up so much room.
But I hate writing on the back of pages in notebooks because the rings get in the way.
I'm in a predicament :$
