Off-Campus Housing Options for 2009?
Let your fingers do the walking & the internet do the talking. You can beat the 'mad rush' of late January, February.
Search Sites -
yahoo, altavista, ask, google, cuill, kijiji, mac ocrc - to find reputable landlords who are looking for people who are serious & proactive.
Search Terms -
mcmaster student houses, mcmaster student housing, mcmaster off campus student houses, mcmaster off campus student housing, mcmaster student rentals off campus, mcmaster off campus rentals, mcmaster student rental houses, mcmaster student rental housing etc.

First Step
Who is to be in your Group - the house mates you want to share the year with off-campus? THIS is the deal maker & breaker in the long term. We began with one set of 'friends' and ended up 4 years later with a few changes.
I was looking for mates who not only were fun to be with & shared similar interests, BUT also were not selfish & irresponsible, who did pay their way and not sponge of the rest of us, were fair about chores, and who had friends we all got along with.

Facebook Marketplace is also a good place to look. That's how my boyfriend found the house he's living in this year.
