Online classes
Hey guys,
I'm taking a year off this year to work and travel a bit. I've been looking into taking some electives online somewhere (for humanities). What's the easiest way to go about this? I know i have to go through a different school. But is it too late for september?
Thanks,
Ralph

Athabasca perhaps? I think it's too late for September, but you can sign up for October. There's also Thompson Rivers University.

Okay, what about just taking an online class at like UoT or something? WHat's the average cost of a course at Athabasca? Any other places easy to take online classes through?

I'm not sure exactly what courses you're interested in. A lot of universities offer online courses so it all depends on what you want to take. You can look into U of T, Dal, etc. Athabasca's courses are a little more expensive that most but it depends on the number of units (Avg is like $750 per course and a one-time $100 application fee)

This site also has all the universities with virtual courses based on the course topic, so you might want to look into it: http://www.cvu-uvc.ca/english.html
There's also U of Guelph: http://www.open.uoguelph.ca/offering...or y=0&tba=no
Another list: http://uwaterloo.ca/canu/

Thanks!
I've been looking at Guelph, and it shouldnt be a problem to sign up for spetember still there. But why does it say their online courses are only .5 credit? ( http://www.open.uoguelph.ca/offering...ld=y& id=3540 ) Would that count as a full course at Mac or what?
Thanks again

It's the same, they require 20 credits to graduate (we require 120 units) so .5 credits is 3 units.

You're welcome! They just have a different credit system. 1 credit is a full-year course, so it's equivalent to 6 units and 0.5 is a half-year course, so it's the same as our 3-unit courses.
