Online Courses?
Does mac offer any online courses during the summer? Or is it possiable to take an online course through another university? and would that take some approval to make sure it shows up on my transcript?

I haven't heard about online courses offered by McMaster during the summer so I doubt it. You can take courses at other universities but you would only receive a credit, not a grade. You would have to find out first whether McMaster approves of that course at the university you wish to take it at. If you're looking for a course where you would receive a grade in the end, it would have to be taken at McMaster.

McMaster does not offer online courses, and seem to be rather against the idea as they are seen as easier.

Maybe not completely online - I know that this summer they're offering engineering economics online except for the final exam!

Yeah they are, because we can do them in our time, at our pace.
Funny how other universities don't have a problem with that.

I'm not sure if taking a course at another university means that the course will not affect your GPA since it doesn't have a grade, just a pass/fail. However, I talked to waterloo about taking required courses for optometry at other universities and they told me that they will pull out the marks from the university the course was taken at.
Although this is true for waterloo, you should make sure that the university of the graduate program you want to atten will do the same. That is if you need a grade for the course. Just a little FYI.

The only "course" that I am aware of that is now online is Science 1A00, but its not really a course, just a WHMIS training for students.

The lectures are all online, however, there are tutorials twice a week that are used to go over details from lecture, and then introduce new material. Plus, there are in class quizes, assignments, and midterms, so overall, I wouldnt call it an online course.
