Ontario tuition grant and being in co-op this semester?
Ok so right now I'm in the third year of my program, and this semester is my first co-op term. On the tuition grant application, I chose Mathematics and Statistics Co-op, third year of my program, and it gives me an error. It says that I need to be in school in the semester of January 2012. Does this mean I don't even get a chance to be eligible??

I think that since the grant only applies to tuition for the winter term (it's $800 instead of the $1600 it would be for a full year), and you're not paying tuition for the winter term, you're not eligible. On the other hand, you're still considered a full-time student, and they don't take into account what you're actually paying in tuition when deciding who gets the rebate, so double check with the financial aid office and/or the SCCE to make sure.

I believe you still are eligible (my sister is in the same boat) but you would get your tuition rebate (or discount) when you pay for your summer/fall semester. it should still be $1600 for the year if you have 2 semesters of class this year, you just get it at a different time

The coop term is 8 months, so the OP won't be in class in the summer.

Yup I have another coop in the summer so I won't be back in school until september. Thanks for the help though guys, I'll make a call and see what to do!
