I think the deadline for opting out was way back in September.

Yea unfortunately the deadline for this has passed quite a while ago. You can opt out next year though. It will almost certainly be done through the McMaster Students' Union website (msumcmaster.ca), just like this year. It was a fully online and automated process this year and probably will be next year as well.

If you didn't opt out, make sure you take full advantage of your coverage!

(unless you're cool with disgusting teeth and stuff)

What if you opt-out but you still haven't received any cheque? Did you guys already received them?

Yes, over a month ago. There was also a direct deposit option, so make sure it wasn't deposited into your bank account before you go asking them about it.

You definitely should have received it by now, we mailed them in like November. Like nerual said, check to see if you received your refund by direct deposit. If not, check your McMaster email and see if you got an email from one of the office clerks saying that your cheque was returned to us by Canada Post. If that's the case then you'll just need to go to the MSU main office (student centre room 201) to pick it up. You'll also need your student ID card with you to prove that you are who you say you are. If your McMaster email inbox is full then the emails from the office clerks would have just bounced back, but your cheque would still be available at the front desk, so just drop in some time Monday-Friday 9-5 and see if it's there.

s.ma says thanks to Andrew A for this post.

0. Check email
1. Check account statement to see if it was put there
2. Check bank account
3. Check MSU office
4. Freak out

(what andrew said, but more concise)
