Unfortunately there are thousands of undergrads who opt out every year. It takes too much man-power for them to contact everyone if there is an issue. And of course, the MSU isn't the group who processes the opt-out; it's the insurance company.

Your best bet is to go to the MSU office and ask to speak to the person in charge of the Opt-Out this year.

All the more reason for this to be an opt-in rather than an opt-out, n'est-ce pas?

From my understanding (limited understanding that is), the reason opt ins generally don't happen is because it's up to the company holding the contract to allow them, and most won't. Also by making the health/dental fees opt out-able instead of opt-in-able we can be sure that all undergrads are covered by health and dental insurance, be it their own or the MSU's.

My sister checked for my name (she's in third year)
and it wasn't on the cheque pick up list.
We have the same information so that isn't a viable option either.
I haven't gotten a response other than my digital receipt when I first input my information.
If the information doesn't go through, can we not be contacted?
I would recommend you contact Victoria Scott, Administrative Assistant of the MSU. She's in charge of the Health and Dental Plans, she's in her office from 9-5 weekdays, just drop by in person and she can help you out.

AP90, jjcole all say thanks to KaesoPublius for this post.

Yeah make sense, they gotta make some money off us some how.

Any word on why we have to be covered by some sort of health/dental plan in the first place? I'm guessing it's a legal thing?

If I'm not mistaken the health and dental fees were applied by student referendum. So we weren't required to have them but a sufficient number of students deemed it a good service. However varsity sports players are required to have insurance and it's my understanding that they can't opt out at all.

I chose direct deposit, and I got a cheque in the mail last week. Anyone who hasn't received theirs should definitely go see someone about it, you should probably have received it by now.

I lost my refund check somewhere just minutes after picking it up. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this. Like somewhere I can go to cancel the last check and get a new one. Any ideas would be appreciated.
