Orgo 2OA3 vs. Phy 1B03 for the MCAT
So I have four days to decide whether to take Phy 1B03 or Orgo 2OA3 over the summer. I enjoy both subjects but only want to focus on one over the summer. Also I do not have space for either as electives during the school year. So I want to base my decision on which will be more helpful to take before the MCAT which I am planning on writing next summer.
From what I’ve heard, physics is a bigger component of the MCAT. So logically, it makes more sense to take this. However, Orgo is the part most people mess up on. So it seems to be the more challenging part of the MCAT. What do people who’ve written the MCAT think about this?
Another big question is: Is the material covered in these university courses (Phy 1B03 and Orgo 2AO3) relevant to the material tested on the MCAT? I’ve heard that the Orgo 2OA3 material is very different from the Orgo MCAT material. What do people who’ve taken Orgo and then written the MCAT think of this?
Also for people who’ve taken Phy 1B03 and then written the MCAT, is the material in 1B03 relevant to the tested material? I’ve actually just taken Phy 1L03. So I suppose I’m somewhat prepared for Physics. But it was a much easier course than 1B03, so I don’t know if it’s enough preparation...
Also for people who’ve done both Orgo 2OA3 and Phy 1B03 and then written the MCAT, which course was more helpful/ relevant to the material tested?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! J

physics.

orgo 2OA3 covers way too much information. Just use the Kaplan books.

They're both good courses, I feel like I learned way more in orgo though. Physics 1B03 was like a review of high school. Orgo is more interesting (at least in my opinion).

Keep in mind that the MCAT has maybe 1-3 questions on Orgo. Physics encompasses a much larger component of the PS section.

You sould probably also note that you don't cover all the material the MCAT covers in Physics 1B03, you also learn the material from Physics 1BB3. I have the table my professor supplied me when I took Physics 1BB3 somewhere. If you want it then I can look for it, but it's just a table showing what each course covers.
