OSAP pick up deadline
So after over an hour in the line up, My OSAP pick-up was unsuccessful because the entitlement did not take into account my QEII scholarship (which was pretty silly because THEY issued it to me but that is a whole other story--).

In a nutshell, I was told to return in two week's time to go through the pick-up process again, but I was not given a date in specific. Two weeks from now is the 20th; OSAP pick-up deadline is the 23rd, I believe.

Might I ask what I should do if it is not ready by the 23rd or if further complications arise? Would it be detrimental to just not pick-up the OSAP loans? I mean, I have nothing BUT their loans to pick up, and I can technically pay them back immediately (I already have money to pay them back; loaning from them is just for the sake of building credit history).

Weird, my QEII was always separate from my OSAP entitlement.

The OSAP pick-up that's happening right now is just the general pick-up. You can pick-up your OSAP at the SFAS office following those pick-up dates.

Yes, it said in the fine text above the two fields to omit QE2 from the scholarship fields as well but the guy at the table was like "Sometimes they add it and sometimes they do not" which leads me to believe he has no idea what he was doing in regards to that figure. But que sera sera--it makes little difference to me.

For pick up? It started about 2 weeks ago, you can still go to pick it up at anytime.

EDIT: Anytime between 9 and 4 I believe.

I ran into the same issue with OSAP recalculation. I think the guy is right.. they "sometimes do" and "sometimes don't"..

From what I've been told (by the McMaster SFAS Staff), the ministry of financial aid considers the QEII scholarship as "income earned during the year", which piles on top of any money you make during the school year (from bursaries, other scholarships, or paid employment).... I think the limit is around ~3000-4000... so if your total "income earned during the year" (QEII + other scholarships/bursaries + employment pay) is greater than that amount, OSAP will have to recalculate your entitlement. If it's less than that amount, you get to keep both your OSAP loan/grants as well as QEII..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I hope this helps
