OSAP/ Scholarships
Two things:
1. It says on my PA that OSAP has been issued (I'm not using it as a funding option - I just applied for OSAP to get another scholarship). Does that just mean they have approved my OSAP, but when they tell me to go pick up my OSAP loan I can just refuse to accept it and that's it.
2. umm I'm resisting the urge to jump up and down in joy. But originally on my PA ( a couple days ago) I had the 2000 dollar entrance scholarship for my high school average. That number on my PA has just gone to 5500 today, where the heck did that extra money come from. When I go to "scholarships and awards" it just has the two thousand.
Please tell me I can jump up and down in joy and that this isn't just a McMaster error?

Holy crap... I wish that happened to me and I wish it wasn't a mistake. Lol
For the OSAP I think you have to collect the check and pay it back to OSAP. I suggest you just collect the check and put it in your bank. Make sure you continue to let OSAP know you are in university until you graduate and then pay them back. You can probably make a few hundred dollars over 4 years.

Okay, so if I accept the cheque for OSAP - could I just pay it back in one payment right away?

Based on the amount of the difference I'd say it looks like the maximum Queen Elizabeth II scholarship (3500$)

Umm, neither MUGSI's OSAP page or the actual OSAP page through the goverment says that I've received anything from that scholarship, even though I did apply.

Yup, it's confirmed. It's the QE II. Congratulations, especially since it is renewable, without having to re-apply.

Thank you
How do you know that it's the QE II? Just based on that it is an extra 3500?

No, I checked my QE II entitlement in MUGSI (I only have 100$ ) and that is exactly how much my 'McMaster Scholarship' did increase.

You actually check under "OSAP and Government Assistance" to see how much you have for QEII scholarship.

Does this mean I have to update my OSAP information since I got more scholarship? Would this reduce the loan amount?
