Hi everyone!

I had a question about parking near campus for my evening lectures. I have a 3 hour lecture 2 times a week and I do not want to pay for parking. I was driving around trying to find a place to park and I noticed that a lot of streets near Mac have the following sign:

MON-FRI
8 am - 6 pm

I hope everyone knows what I am talking about. My understanding of these signs is that between 8 am to 6 pm, you can only park on the roads for one hour. After 6 pm, however, you can park for as many hours as you please. Is this correct? Or do these signs mean that you can only park on the roads between 8 am - 6 pm for one hour and that after 6 pm, you cant park on the roads at all?

My classes are 7 pm-10 pm so can I park on the roads with these signs? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks a lot

My understanding is the same as yours - 1 hour between 8am-6pm, and unlimited after that (which allows overnight parking as well)

I've parked in those zones after 6pm, even overnight a few times and never had a problem. Between 8am and 6pm though, the traffic cop comes by like every 1/2 hour to check. Should be alright for you to use for your night classes.

yes i've parked in these places after 6pm and ive never gotten a ticket. anytime after 6pm is unlimited.

i actually park at 5pm since 1 hour of parking would equal 6pm and any time after 6pm is allowed...so i just leave my car there at 5pm until i leave after my night class.
