				parking off campus

im going to be driving to mcmaster twice a week for summer courses and was wondering if anyone knew of any good off campus places to park that aren't too far away.

i was thinking about parking at fortinos and then just walking. do you think i would i get a ticket/towed if i left my car in that lot all day? what about in westdale? are there spots where you can park for 3+ hours? anyone know?

I've heard Fortinos will ticket you.

You can park at the end of Emerson / Broadway (past Willowcrest) for any amount of time. Then, if you're lucky you can grab the Emerson/Whitney bus up to school - but the HSR isn't exactly reliable so don't count on that.

A lot of the side streets (Westdale and the Main/Emmerson area) do have parking police checking about once an hour or so from 9am-5pm daily. Some streets more than others, though.

Ask around the neighbourhood, maybe somebody will allow you to park in their driveway. If most people in a house are off for the summer they might be willing to "sublet" you their driveway....

It's only a 10-15 minute walk from that point, too.

What about parking on the side streets at night? I have night classes 4 times a week this summer, I really can't afford to pay for parking at mac. >.<

 this.
I also have night class 4 nights a week. Would rather drive than take the GO, but I am concerned about parking.
What are the rates for parking on campus?
And where are good spots to park at night?

You can park on most of the nearby side streets after a certain hour - look for the signs - I think it's after 4:30 pm but check to make sure. ( obviously, if you find a spot, which during the school year it's not so easy... but it does happend)
