YorkU has a way out of parking tickets. Anyone know if there's something similar here at Mac?

If you do decide to get another license plate if the tickets are overdue they will not let you get a new license plate. Pay the tickets off asap, I'm pretty sure they have a high interest rate and the amount will continue to grow.
This also applies for red-light cameras and stuff like that. If they can't prove who was driving/who was responsible for an infraction, it goes to the registered owner of the vehicle. It can't cause demerit points (although if a cop catches you running a red light it can), it's just the fine.

To the OP, just pay the ticket. There's a good reason you're not supposed to park in front of fire hydrants--that it was only for half an hour or that you didn't see it is irrelevant. Pay more attention next time.

It doesn't matter who was driving the vehicle at the time. If the car got a ticket, it is attached to the person who owns the car. You parked in front of a hydrant, pay the fine before the deadline or the ticket will increase by a lot.

I already went and fought it. The non-judicial adjudicator, which you are supposed to see before getting a court date, dropped the ticket after I explained my situation. So I did have some ground. With or without paying attention, plus it was the circumstances of the situation that lead me to miss seeing the fire hydrant as well as the trickery of the sign. Trix r for kids.
