Payment Agreement
On my Payment Agreement, I selected the "Payment in Full" Plan, but under Financial Summary (Section4), it says only $6494.27 as my 'balance forward', even though my tuition/rez/meal plan/supplementary fees cost $13660.67 in total. Also, under Payment Schedule and & Messages (Section5), it says "Based on your OSAP estimate, this is the amount we will deduct: $7166.40" and under it, "Payment in Full: $6494.27 (due September 1st)".

Is this normal? I thought I was supposed to pay the full amount by September 1st even though I'm relying on OSAP. Should I just leave it be or contact someone in the financial aid office? (or maybe the student accounts office?)

Aren't you also using your scholarship?

1st semesters worth of osap will be deducted off your balance for September 1st. 2nd semester osap is given to you in cheque.

Yea... I think I'm supposed to be getting $3000 entrance scholarship but it hasn't shown up yet so I can't check of that box as a part of my funding option. I think I'm also gonna get at least SOME money for the QEII scholarship but that hasn't been confirmed yet either.

Oh, I understand that you meant.

Yeah, thedog123123 explained it. The first part of your OSAP (60% of your total OSAP) gets deducted from your tuition. The Payment Agreement is basically like a contract that says that you will redirect the first OSAP payment to McMaster when you go and pick it up.

oohhh I see...Thanks!!
The amount they're deducting is actually about $70 more than what I'm supposed to be getting from OSAP in first term. But that's probably not a big problem right? Also, then would I just not go to pick up my OSAP stuff in September since they're redirecting it to McMaster anyways, or do I still have to go?

You still have to go and "pick up" to sign. They can't redirect the money without your consent.

Hmmm, you should probably get that fixed... but I would wait until the actual amount you get from OSAP is confirmed. It's just an estimate right now, so when it changes it might fix itself.

You still have to go to pick up your osap in september. You will also be completing your confirmation of enrolment form in september when you pick up your osap.
