Payment Agreement
Hi
I am just confused about the payment agreement stuff.
1:There is a new system they got called INTERAC which I can pay by that, but I only have a credict card from HSBC. ..and I checked their members , there is HSBC...However when it comes to select the online bank page, there are only four major banks available except HSBC. So I guess i can't pay by that method, or is there a other way around?
2: If I go to a bank to make a payment in person, is the student number enough to make the transaction?
Appreciate

1. Interac uses debit cards not credit cards. All banks use Interac but McMaster only accepts those 4 banks.
2. You can make an online transaction. If you go to your payment agreement and click on the bubble in the payment method section, they will tell you how.

If you do online/telephone banking, your student number is your account number. If you choose to use this method (online or telephone banking), remember that it will take 3-4 days to transfer the money to McMaster. So, I would recommend calling your bank soon

Thank you guys.so basically I just tell them my student number as my account , do I need to tell them this transaction goes to Mcmaster, for example, a specific account under the university financial department?

You can do the payment online... You just set up a bill. The institution or business or whatever is McMaster University.

Unfortunately, no. There are only four payment methods: Interac Online, Online / Telephone Banking (transfers take 3-4 business days), Cheque / Money Order / Bank Draft (payable to McMaster University) and International Wire Transfer (international students only). However, I think it would be a great idea to make a new method for credits cards.

Maybe the reason that they don't want credit cards is because the interest doesn't go to them. Although if that's true then money orders wouldn't make much sense...

There is no specific account/department. Like jhan523 said, you just need to mention that the institution is McMaster University.
