Payment Agreement Question
I have a question about the payment agreement. I have registered for 27 units. I want to register for 1 more elective class to bring my total units to 30. The class I want is full right now so I'm going to keep trying on solar to register. Should I go ahead and accept my payment agreement for 27 units? What will happen when I register for the other class? How will my payment agreement be affected? Any help you can provide will be great. Thank you!

I would accept your payment agreement right now, even with 27 units. That way, it will "clear" your fee status. After that, when you add another course to go to 30 units you just have to re-accept your payment agreement.

Well, it will automatically update your residence fee based on what you were assigned. To change your meal plan, you have to go back into your residence application and change it there. It will then be reflected in your payment agreement. (Eventually).

Um, basically you get to choose from Payment in full, and some various monthly installment plans that have really high interest.

You don't have to complete the PA right then and there. But when you do view the PA, there's a little question mark bubble next to the payment method. You can click on that and see all the different types of payment methods as well as how much interest is charged and when (no interest on payment in full).

Yep, September 1st, but I would do the transaction (if online) 2-3 business days before hand.

There is a new payment option this year that uses interac. I'm assuming that payment would be received almost automatically in this manner. But you can also set up a "bill" to McMaster university and pay them through online banking. I believe they tell you how somewhere in the McMaster website.

Yeah, but I would still pay a couple days early, just as a precaution. It's best to avoid the late fees.

If you're going to use interac, you might as well just use online banking, because I believe you get charged for interac, and there is like a $1000 a day limit. At least that's how it works with Scotiabank. Maybe other banks are different.
