So I was thinking of getting a new phone. I'm not sure what to go for with all these new phones coming out. The iphone and the blackberry seem to be the most popular, although there are quite a few HTCs around as well. I mainly need it for browsing, I want to be able to put my music on it. I want it customizable. And I want a big screen and don't want it to freeze up on me. Any ideas?

Yeah... Android is the only option if you want to be able to customize.

Android...

Get the Samsung Galaxy S2 (released on the 21st). Dual Core, 2.3, Epic.

Like others have said, if you want customizable go with an Android based phone.

I'm in the same situation, but probably going to buy an iPhone 3GS since it's cheaper now (used).
No one can compare with the touch screen of iPhones, lets face it...

I would love to get an android, but then I don't want to also carry around an iPod touch. Combo time

Enjoy the lack of battery life if you are using it for music haha.

I got my new blackberry curve for $200 at koodo, unlocked it, and am now without a contract. Life is good.

Have you used HTC? New Samsung "superphones"?

Superior to iPhone screens.

go into a store... try them out.. see what you like best. Now compare with reviews on the interwebs and you will have your answer. Its not rocket science.

Also, i'd recommend at least waiting till the new iphone is out. As much as people like to hate on apple, and their products, they really are quality phones if you treat them well.
